School closed

Good morning all,

 

Due to the weather conditions, current weather forecast and in order to keep everyone safe, St Martin's School will be closed today.

 

Please stay home, keep warm and be safe.

 

We know that with recent developments in technology, several schools are setting online learning when they close for things like this. However at St Martin's we believe in the learning associated with a traditional snow day. Therefore, we suggest considering any or all of the following learning activities:

*go for a walk in the snow,

*make a snow man,

*make a snow angel,

*have a snow ball fight,

*write a story set in the snow,

*write a descriptive poem about the snow,

*create a piece of snow themed art work - you could use pens, crayons, paints, or even collage,

*find out about animals who live in the snow,

*find out about how snow is created,

*spend time having a window moment and just be fascinated by snow!

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by today's closure, but as always our decisions are based on what we feel is right for the children.
