Residential Update: Tues AM

Residential update: Tues AM

So all children slept! And all children slept well. Miss Lopez, Mrs Greenwood, Miss Hawkins and I all did a bit to help with that, like reading on a bedroom floor to just be a calming presence, sitting with a child when they’d come to say they’d woken up in the middle of the night and couldn’t sleep, or even - true fact - popping in at quarter to 4, to remind children that just because they’d woken up it didn’t mean they should put the light on and have a chat!

Breakfast was ‘awesome’. Cooked options were sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms and, to some children’s visible delight, hash browns. There was also fruit, porridge, cereal, yoghurt and lots of toast. All children again ate well.

Today’s activites include raft building (only one child in the water so far), zipwiring, trapeze (don’t ask - it’s not quite as bad as a circus trapeze but it still makes me twitch slightly) and sensory trail.

Miss Lopez goes home this evening, Mrs Hop is here for the day and Mrs Bartlett is super excited to join us this evening.

The sun is even shining today so I can feel at least 8 of my fingers, whereas yesterday it was only 3, and not many toes either. We may deter frost bite yet! Disclaimer: I’m joking - no children got frostbite in the making of this residential.

Next update tonight teatime ish - before campfire - yes, outside in the middle of October. If you read this before 7.30pm tonight, send help - preferably Prosecco? Mrs Rennison
