Residential Update - 23.10.24 Wednesday morning

Residential update: 23.10.24 Wednesday morning

AND THEY SLEPT!
And therefore so did we!

We said goodbye to Ms Mendivil who escaped/I mean left us after campfire last night :( But we also welcomed Miss Lopez who joined us just in time for breakfast today!

It was a quiet night. With all children asleep by 10.30am, we were able to sit and catch Mrs Bartlett up on all the shenanigans that had gone on up till she joined us at teatime last night, before going to bed at a reasonable time. The update list included all the things that for us adults, make the whole thing worthwhile:
After a shower, 'wow, I feel like a new man!'
When a harness was too big, 'I think I need to grow into this!'
As we finished singing our first song at campfire, 'this is the best thing ever!'

After another full English breakfast or combinations within that, all children are fuelled up and ready to go.
We held a room inspection this morning. Actually, because they'd had half an hour to tidy, both rooms were pretty good. There were two cases that, having repacked them myself so many times I could probably recite the content list in full, I have now refused to repack any more, some of the other boys took over and did it for those who are packing-challenged, so it all turned out rather well at inspection! The boys' room scored 8.5/10 and the girls' room 9.25/10. A further inspection may occur later...

The most amusing thing was when Mrs Bartlett asked what the organised pile at the end of the boys' room was; the answer was 'that's the lost property'!

After what seemed like the longest version yet of 'Have you got, jumper, coat and shoes on?', to which the answers were varied, despite repetition, they have all gone off to start activities.

Fingers crossed for another wonderful day!
