Residential - Wednesday evening

Residential update:
Sorry for lack of posts - it’s been a full on day and I’ve not had time to stop!
We’ve had a great day. The children have done a range of activities as usual, including tree climb, orienteering, nightline (blindfolded activity) and initiative tests. We then used the hour between activites ending snd dinner, to visit the shop in groups. I did all I could to encourage your children to purchase a memory, a useful item etc, and not to purchase lots of sweets (as they can’t eat them here!) but I can’t promise that some sweets and chocolate weren’t purchased I’m afraid as it was their choice in the end!
Dinner was a steak bake, or sausages, with mash, and peas, sweetcorn and baked beans, then very large pieces of a very sweet marshmallow and white chocolate crispy cornflake cake. Most children believe it or not couldn’t finish it. All ate well.
This evenings activity was a campfire, which was held inside due to a lot of rain (which luckily held off during activities). We sang songs and were generally loud and raucous until eyelids began to droop. The staff made us all hot chocolate and then we went off to rooms to pack for tomorrow, then bed.
Despite bribing the children to help me win and best Mrs Bartlett by having kids asleep before ten, e didn’t manage that, but I’ve just done another corridor walk and all rooms are now quiet. I’ll take that!
I’ve put some photos on here of some of the activity areas from today and in the week.
Now - fingers crossed for an uneventful night!
