I wanted to share with you all, something I shared (in a hurry as I'd already overrun!) in celebration worship on Friday.
A couple of years ago, our leaving Y6 cohort's parents purchased a bird box with a camera, as a leaving gift for the school. We have tried countless times, working with Harrap who support us for IT, to get it working, and on the wifi etc, and it's been an absolute nightmare. However, in Jan, finally they managed to get it to work. We then have waited for results. Purely by chance, I heard an ipad beep last week, to discover that the beep was a notification from the birdbox with the message 'motion detected - you've got visitors'! We looked back at the photos that the birdbox has been taking, and have found that we do indeed have a visitor. We had two actually- a bluetit and a black bird- but clearly the bluetit won the battle of the bird box, as it now visits every day without fail - usually at about 7am, and sometimes during the day as well. There aren't yet signs of actually nesting, and of course it feels too late possibly for this year - but it's good to know that we have visitors as you just never know!
Once we have nesting birds, we will be able to watch it live, and also hear it - we can't wait to hear the cries of hungry baby birds waiting to be fed! Fingers crossed.
