Meet the Governors

 ELEANOR ASTON-NOONE - Foundation Governor

I joined the Governor team at St Martin’s in 2022 when my daughter had just started her second year at the school. My son is due to start in September 2023. I have a long and wonderful relationship with the school as my mother taught the St Martin’s reception ‘cherry’ class for around two decades and I am completely delighted that my children now attend.

I grew up in Woolton Hill but only moved back to the area in 2021 after more than a decade in London; I’m now a full time mother, navigating house renovations and learning how to garden! I feel very lucky to be a Governor at such a wonderful school.

LINDA CHORLEY - LA Governor (Chair)

I took up my role as Governor at St Martin’s School in 2018 and very quickly realised that this was to be a demanding but rewarding adventure.  Although I do not live in the village, I have become familiar with the community spirit, which is reflected in the school ethos, and feel very much part of it.

I have worked in education for many years, albeit in further education rather than primary, and when I semi-retired, I was looking for something which would challenge me and provide new experiences.  I found it by becoming a governor at St Martin’s and I love being part of such a great team.

In my spare time I like to read, exercise, and spend time with my grandchildren.

SUKI COE - Foundation Governor (Chair of PPF)

I have been a foundation school governor since 2018. I am currently the Chair of the Finance committee.

I am an active member of the local church community and training to be a Licenced Lay Minister supporting Revd Canon Christine and the Ministry Team.

I work full time for a multi-national civil engineering company providing essential infrastructure such as roads, railways, pipelines and energy generation. I lead a team of Town Planners responsible for securing planning permission for these large projects. I have also been a government inspector in a past life; skills that I bring to my role as school governor.

Outside work and church, I enjoy cycling, gardening and taking my puppy out for some long walks.

ELAINE COLVILLE - Foundation Governor

I am an active member of the congregation at St Martin’s Church and I was delighted to become a Foundation Governor of the school in 2018. Having combined my working life as a solicitor in the City with varied roles in the not for profit world, the time was right for me to devote some of my energy to the local community. My voluntary roles have ranged from being on the boards of a large central London housing association and of my old university to being a trustee of various charities.

I hope to use my past experience to help ensure that the current and future children of St Martin’s School and their teachers continue to thrive within our local community. My other activities currently involve my grandchildren, tennis, gardening and walking.

ROB CROMPTON - Foundation Governor

I recently moved in to Woolton Hill with my wife Judy. I have been in education all my life, including being chair of governors of a large comprehensive school. I was headteacher of two primary schools, the first one very similar to St Martin’s in the heart of rural Cambridgeshire. Later, I lectured in education at Reading University. I led over 200 Ofsted inspections and have worked extensively overseas, leading inspections, accreditations and in-service training. Currently, I lead peer-to-peer school reviews for a charitable trust. As this work is part-time, I now feel able to contribute again to the local community, and I’m pleased to have been appointed recently as a foundation governor.

Working part-time allows me to pursue my other interests, including song writing, recording, and performing. I am a member of the Performing Right Society and the British Actors Equity Association. I was a scriptwriter for schools and children’s TV and have just completed my fourth musical for children.

 ANN ROWE - Foundation Governor

My name is Ann Rowe and I became a Foundation governor in 2015.

All of my working career has been spent in Education, firstly as a secondary teacher of Home Economics , then after my family I retrained to work in Early Years. I have always been keen to improve standards in education and this was part of my motivation for becoming a governor. I hoped that I could make a difference to the lives of children within St Martin’s school. I still love being in the school amid the children who are always so refreshing and such fun.
