Residential update: Wed eve

Residential update: Wed eve

There is really only one word to describe this afternoon, and that is wet. The photo of me on here does not show the true extent of the sogginess; for example, my waterproof coat turned out not to stay so, during torrential rain - that’s how soggy we all got. Still. Nothing a shower, a change of clothes and meatballs and pasta or chicken curry for tea couldn’t sort.

Ok the plus side, the approximately 6 children (all boys I’m afraid) who, as of this morning, had still not yet had a shower, have now all done so. Or so they tell us… we make no promises. However they did know that by hook or by crook, they would not be going home without at least one shower in 4 days, so I think it may have been the nudge that was needed! Also - much of the clothing that got so wet won’t dry fully before being packed in the suitcases, so be prepared…

The children also enjoyed a lunch of chicken nuggets and potato wedges with sweet chilli sauce if they wanted. We’ve definitely all eaten well this week.

I have just arrived home, having left the boss in charge of an impromptu film night, as the planned outdoor activity couldn’t go ahead. It made it easier to enjoy hot chocolate and cake, which was planned for their last night. Currently children are settling into bed, but I don’t think anyone will be long in getting to sleep tonight.. exhaustion is definitely kicking in. Mrs Bartlett will be in touch tomorrow morning with an update. I’m off to get some sleep. Oh yes.
