Residential Update - 23.10.24 Wednesday evening

So it took longer to get everyone to sleep than I expected this evening. I think the impact of the excitement of the final night and knowing that we are coming home tomorrow! However it is now all quiet (after I’ve spent the last 30 minutes sat on the floor of the boys room!) and the adults are enjoying a hot drink and a catch up after the day!

Tea was hot dogs, chicken legs, cheese and tomatoes pasta, corn on the cobb and potatoes. There was lots of everything and lots of the children enjoyed seconds of their favourite bit. And even better were the waffles, cream and chocolate sauce for pudding!

We then enjoyed a games evening with uno flip, monopoly deal, double, exploding kittens, chess, top trumps and 5 alive. It's amazing how many different versions of the same game there are but half the fun was sharing rules and learning new ways of playing. And there might have even been more cake!

We've started to try to organise packing in preparation for tomorrow - the lost property pile has slowly shrunk, dirty shoes have been put in bags and pants have been claimed. One child even packed his sleeping bag - only to realise he was going to actually need it this evening!

Finally we said goodbye to Mrs Rennison, who did a final round of goodnight cuddles, including a group hug in the girls' room, before leaving to drive home ready for school tomorrow. I wonder how teaching Cherry class tomorrow will compare to the last few days on residential - I have a feeling our youngest children might do a better job of not leaving their pants lying around!
