We make every effort to provide a safe and welcoming environment underpinned by a culture of openness where both children and adults feel secure, able to talk and believe that they are being listened to.
We maintain an attitude of “it could happen here” where safeguarding is concerned.
Anyone working in, volunteering in or visiting this school has a duty of care towards the children here. This means that at all times, it is important that you act in a way that is consistent with their safety and welfare.
In addition, if at any time you have a concern about a child or young person, particularly if you think they may be at risk of abuse or neglect, it is your responsibility to share that concern with a Designated Safeguarding Lead. At St Martin’s CE (Aided) Primary School, the DSLs are:
- Mrs K. Bartlett DSL
- Mrs M. Rennison Deputy DSL
Both Mrs Bartlett and Mrs Rennison can be contacted through the School Office and have been trained to deal with safeguarding matters.
